What is Nordic Walking?

Nordic Walking is a form of physical activity, where the active use of a pair of specially designed Nordic Walking poles is added to regular walking.

Poles intensify walking and involve more muscles in the body, particularly the shoulders and arms, distributing effort throughout the whole body in a symmetrical and balanced way.

Sessions usually consist of a warm up, some work on technique, a walk and cool down stretches.

Who is it for?

Nordic Walking is suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels.

It’s good for cross-training athletes, fitness enthusiasts, recreational walkers, people looking to lose weight, and anybody new to exercise.

It’s ideal for people who have not exercised for a while, or people who dislike traditional sports or gym activities.

Beginners will need lessons to learn the basic pole techniques needed to gain the full benefits.

What are the benefits of Nordic Walking?

Regular Walking

Ideal for those who would like to walk regularly with a group. Clive will plan different local routes each week with variation in terrain, texture and pace.  A fantastic opportunity to integrate indoor practise of alignment and movement, with your daily walking.
